On a Health Note

I sat down to post a blog about the happenings in our world since those previous spectacular concert posts and immediately thought HOLY APPOINTMENTS. So, what exactly am I talking about? Check out the list of what we've been up to over the past couple of weeks:
  • Eye Exams: Slight change in Girlie's nearsightedness, but not enough to require a new pair of glasses. No change in my vision; however, I did find a funky new pair of glasses as backup to contacts. (Photo soon.) One thing we did find disconcerting was Girlie's glaucoma test results, as her eye pressure seems to be slightly on the high end - something to “keep an eye on” according to the eye doctor... and something for Mom to add the Worry List.

  • Dental Checkups: Bad news on the tooth front, unfortunately. Peep Son has a cavity in a baby tooth that will be falling out soon, so Doc C decided to leave it alone. For me, however, Doc C ordered the replacement of 2 ancient fillings that are deteriorating at lightning speed. I debated over tooth-colored vs. metal fillings, and guess what? After chatting with my online peeps and doing a little research of my own, looks like I'll have some new durable metal fillings in a few weeks, along with a completely numb face.

  • Annual Physical: Here's where I get kudos after having my first MAMMOGRAM. Every year for the past 10+ years, Doc M has advised me to get a yearly mammogram after the age of 40. While my 40th birthday is still a few weeks away, I held good to that recommendation and had it done today. Was I scared? You better believe it. But for no reason! That scan was a piece. of. cake. Then on with the physical exam where I weighed in at 2 lbs less than last year and with blood pressure 110/70. While mammo/blood test results are still pending, Doc M described my health status as 'still perfect'. <--!!!
Now to schedule school physicals for the Peeps, then we'll be all set for another year. In the meantime, what in the world is that smell? Could it be chlorine? Methinks.
